LASERPLAST
LUMENIS ACUPULSE
True beauty lies in the beholder’s eyes
The Acupulse laser is a CO2 laser (10600nm) with a variety of handpieces; the free-spot handpiece is used for bloodless cutting of tissue, the 200mm handpiece is used in the silktouch or feathertouch modes for skin removal, while the new AcuScan handpiece is used for fractional ablation treatments; it carries out deep fractional treatments with a 0.12mm diameter micro spot in the superpulse mode, or superficial fractional treatments thanks to the scanned helical movement that this same spot can produce. In this way (deep mode or DS – deep spot, and superficial mode or SS – superficial spot) all the characteristics of aged skin can be dealt with. Dr. Tretti Clementoni also possesses experimental software for this laser which enables the two modes described above to be used simultaneously, increasing both the speed and effectiveness of the treatment at the same time. Fractional CO2 laser treatment, due to the controlled release of heat, causes important production of new collagen and its successive rearrangement. The clinical results of treatment with this type of laser continue to improve as much as 9 months later.
